As a supplier of vehicle CCTV, tracking and safety equipment. Fleet Witness have grown significantly over the last few years. We are now looking for a Auto Electrical Engineering Manager to join our fantastic team and aid the deployment of our solutions and growth of our engineering department.
Is Our Ideal Candidate
It would be an ideal position for someone who has had time on the tools and understands the industry but wants to start transitioning into a more senior engineering role. The position will still involve a lot of site work but it will be a hybrid position, with at least 1 day per fortnight in the office. As such, we are searching for someone within about 90 minutes of the office. There will also be more time set aside for managing larger deployments, putting together documentation and training some of the less experienced engineers and new recruits.
- Installation of camera systems, tracking devices, CAN devices and blind spot detection systems to various vehicle types.
- Service and maintenance of the items above.
- Commissioning of new systems – Either by working in co-ordination with our office team, or self-commissioning with a laptop.
- Project management in conjunction with our office team for large scale deployments. This will require communication with our customers, other engineers and sub-contractors.
- Provide the training and growth of our engineering team.
- Able to take initiative to ensure the best course of action is taken when approaching all aspects of the job.
- Experience working with vehicles, and auto-electrics.
- An understanding of DC electronics.
- Calm and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Organised and detail orientated.
- Great communication skills.
- Telematics installation: 2 years (required).
- vehicle CCTV installation: 1 year (required).
- This is mainly a mobile role, the successful candidate will need to be happy travelling, working independently and also managing a team.
- There will also be time spent in the office in Faringdon, Oxfordshire. At least once per fortnight initially but we would expect this to increase overtime.
- Flexibility to work weekends when required, this varies dependant on projects but is unlikely to be more than 1or 2 Saturdays per month for the most part. Occasionally we’ll have larger projects that require attendance on Saturday & Sunday, these will be agreed on a case by case and time in lieu, or overtime will be given.
- Flexibility to travel, with overnight stays when needed. This is project dependant.

Fleet Witness provides its services nationwide across mainland UK. For this phase of recruitment, we are looking for an experienced Auto Electrical Engineering Manager based near our office in Faringdon, Oxfordshire.
Commencement Date & Role requirements
An immediate start is available for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, who can demonstrate high personal standards and excellent communication skills. A genuine interest in electronics and technology is a must!
The role will consist of the installation of connected cameras, safety sensors, and vehicle trackers, spanning from cars to 26T lorries and agricultural machinery. Experience with 12 and 24-volt systems is necessary. Moreover, experience within technical environments would be advantageous, given that the solutions we supply will need to be configured, commissioned, and demonstrated to the customer.
As an Auto Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be required to maintain professionalism in your delivery and communications with both customers and other subcontractors. Your responsibilities will include participating in the planning and roll-out of large-scale projects, necessitating detailed record-keeping of completed work.
You will have regular, dedicated time in the office to focus on growing and improving our installation and maintenance service.
Work Conditions and Benefits
When applying, please consider that we work closely with the transport industry. Given the nature of the industry, there are many occasions where access to vehicles is only available on weekends. Consequently, our engineers will typically work 1-2 weekends per month. However, we provide weekdays in lieu and numerous opportunities for overtime as a result. While the majority of the work will be in your region, larger projects may require engineers to travel and stay away from home.
A competitive salary is offered, along with 28 days of holiday, including bank holidays. Additionally, a company vehicle, uniform, tools, and a Smartphone will be provided.
